Rizal, officially the Province of Rizal, is a province in the Philippines located in the Calabarzon region in Luzon. Its capital is the city of Antipolo. Rizal is bordered by Metro Manila to the west, Bulacan to the north, Quezon to the east and Laguna to the southeast. The province also lies on the northern shores of Laguna de Bay, the largest lake in the country. Rizal is a mountainous province perched on the western slopes of the southern portion of the Sierra Madre mountain range.
The province has a land area of 1,182.65 square kilometers. 2020 Census puts the population in Rizal province at 3,330,143. This represented 20.56% of the total population of the CALABARZON region, 5.35% of the overall population of the Luzon island group, or 3.05% of the entire population of the Philippines. The population density is at 2,816 inhabitants per square kilometer, making it the 2nd most densely populated province in the country, just behind Cavite which has 8,467 people per square kilometer.
